The Contented Angler
We took a nice camping trip to Cook's Forest State Park to fish the Clarion River.
Although this portion of the river is not angler-friendly, we found great dry fly fishing
nearby. This is a relaxing campground with spacious sites. If you're an angler then you
hate to see "No Tresspassing" signs. This is an area where you will be amazed when you
don't see a "No Trespassing" sign. I'm not sure what the reason is for this, but it sure ruins
the scenery. Anyway, there is great dry fly fishing nearby and we stopped counting how
many fish were hooked. This is a big river and actually one of the few where you need a
thermometer to find the fish. I found temperature differences of 10 degrees. On warm
sunny days you will find magnificent canoe hatches within the park. Looks like fun and I
plan to try it someday. The best pair of waders here is shorts and an old pair of sneekers.
Actually, these are the only waders I know of that don't leak.

Always have to have a shot of the campsite.
This is what it's all about anyway.
Helping mom land another one.

We not only had classic dry fly fishing. It was also a
classic case of the "one that got away", as we
managed to lose some very nice fish. Very strong
fish in this water and all were returned unharmed.
