Casting with Lefty Kreh
Lefty Kreh

Who wouldn't like a casting lesson from Lefty Kreh? All of
Lefty's knowledge combined with the perfect photography of
Jay Nichols makes this as close as you can get to a personal
lesson. Of course there are chapters on casting, but also
covered here is how to prevent injury and a small section on
how to cast bamboo. All of the fishing casts are covered:
reach cast, curve cast, tuck cast, speed cast, etc.You would
expect a fly casting book by Lefty Kreh to be special, and this
one truly is.

Very Special!
Trout Fishing in the Catskills
Ed Van Putt
Skyhorse Publishing.  438 pgs.

It's not over yet, but this is my pick for "Book of the Year" in
2007.  The research and photography alone are worth the
price. This is one of those quality productions. Every
generation blames the other for the devastation of our
brook trout streams. Here is the true story. This is very
entertaining and comprehensive  history that covers every
stream in the Catskills. Outstanding book. This has collector
written all over it and it's going to go fast.
We are fortunate to have autographed copies of this one!
$60.00 and worth every penny

The Lost World of Mr. Hardy.  DVD

If it concerns Hardy, you expect it to be just as special as
their products and this DVD lives up to the name. Historic
footage, reel making, rod building, and a fly tyer tying a
classic salmon fly in his hand! This is an essential piece of fly
fishing history. The older anglers will appreciate it and the
those just getting into the sport will get a great fly fishing
history lesson. This is the best DVD in my collection!
