Our friend, Chris Carlin of Anchorage took a break from building the finest bamboo rods you will
find, to do a little fishing. Okay, "a little fishing" is putting it mildly. The average Steelhead run on the
Situk river in Alaska is around 8,000 fish and males who have made the 22 mile journey up the river
multiple times can reach 40 inches and 25 pounds!
One unique aspect about the Situk is that it is not glacier fed. The clear water provides optimum
conditions for Steelhead reproduction.
