The Contented Angler
Fly Fishing
We get so many commets on this knot that I thought we should put it back on the site for the benefit of those who haven't seen
it. I first saw the knot in the book: Atlantic Salmon Chronicles. Now many of you are using it and find it very easy and certainly
much stronger than the standard blood knot.
Here's the Bloody Quick Knot.
1. Cross your two strands of mono and wrap the lighter one around
the heavier one four or five times.
2. Take the heavier tag end and cross it behind the lighter one.
Wrap the heavier tag around the lighter tag end three times.
3. Snug the knot up by pulling on all four ends of the lines. Tighten
the knot by pulling on the two main lines.
4. Trim the tag ends and you have the bloody quick knot. You can
almost tie it with frozen hands.
