The Contented Angler
Amy & Joe Gablick
We arrived a little early for this evening of fishing. The Bee, my usual searching
pattern accounted for some fish while Amy swung the Grouse & Green for a few
more. A Green Czech nymph was also productive. We left some promising pools
undisturbed for the evening fishing. We saw a few Yellow mayflies (invarias) along
with some Hendricksons and March Browns. We were hoping for Sulphurs in the
evening. We watched the fish taking emergers until our patience got the best of us
and we began tossing March Browns into the current. The action was constant and
before prime time, we felt we had hooked enough, so we ended the day watching at
least a dozen risers. It's a great day when you can swing soft hackles and finish it
with a good hatch.
The Diamondback Bamboo and Cortland Sylk line
delivered the fly with perfect accuracy and these
fish felt like 10 pounders on this setup.
